Safeguarding — Child protection

Our commitment

FECOFA is committed to ensuring that every child and young person can play football in a safe, caring and respectful environment. Any form of violence, abuse, harassment, neglect or discrimination is unacceptable, on and off the pitch.

Our principles

  • The child's interest and well-being come before any other consideration, including sporting ones.
  • Every report is taken seriously and handled confidentially.
  • Affiliated clubs, leagues and academies appoint an officer in charge of protecting minors.
  • Coaches and officials are made aware of and trained in prevention.

Code of conduct for coaches and officials

  • Never stay alone with a minor in an isolated place (changing room, vehicle, bedroom).
  • No inappropriate physical contact, humiliation or corporal punishment.
  • No private communication with a minor on social networks or messaging apps outside a group setting known to the parents.
  • Respect young people's privacy during travel and accommodation.
  • Never promise a selection, a contract or a transfer in exchange for money or favours.
  • Report any worrying situation without delay.

Are you a victim or a witness?
